Justice- delayed by 70 years. The Last Nazi faces Imprisonment

94 years old Oskar Groening, famously known as the book keeper of Auschwitz Concentration camp, the terror bed of Nazi experimentation and brutality, has been convicted by a German court.
The 94 year old former guard of Nazi death camp has been accused of aiding the death of 300,000 Jews under his command.

Oskar , then 23 year old, was responsible for counting the belongings confiscated from prisoners. He at last admitted to being guilty. Nazi officers not only tortured Jews to death, but also looted the belongings. The greed for loot can be vindicated by the fact that even gold filled tooth were extracted before sending the victims to gas chambers. Each army officer associated with the camp had a share in the plundered booty. Higher the ranking, more the share.

In case of Groening, his lawyers argued that he did not facilitate the killings. The view point here was he was assisting in running the camp smoothly.

He is expectedly the last of the Nazis to face a courtroom and prosecuted.

Leon Schwazrbaum, a survivor of Auschwitz Concentration camp, is about same age of Oskar. He lost his 30 family members in the holocaust, many of them at Auschwitz. When asked if he can forgive Oksar, the answer was No!

Oskar Gröning told the court: ‘Before the victims, I admit to moral guilt here with regret and humility. But as to the question whether I am criminally culpable, that’s for you to decide.’

So at last the justice does prevail. The holy question ,why the delay ?Would never be answered in right spirits.
